House of Prayer
"Now my eyes will be open and my ears attentive to the prayers offered in this place." 2 Chronicles 7:15 NIV
Our desire is to host a 24-hour House of Prayer that covers the region of the North East of England. Originally beginning in one place where the presence of God abided permanently for four years we have set ourselves the task of spreading it over the region and growing the led prayer and worship. We aim to stand as a lighthouse of prayer that God can depend upon to fuel the extension of His kingdom and the transformation of our nation. Using up to date technology the virtual prayer rooms and forums, as well as corporate prayer meetings in houses and buildings, unite to open the heavens. It also contains a setting where individuals can come fon a Friday night for ministry or shut themselves away in order to seek God for a breakthrough, somewhere the healing power of God resides.

We believe God has given the House of Prayer as a tool of prayer for the cities and region of the North East and for the nation of Great Britain. Many people from different churches come and join prayer throughout the week and we encourage corporate gatherings for prayer hosted by differing parts of the body of Christ.

Highlights of the week
Throughout the week there are many sessions of led worship and prayer. Most Friday evenings there is time for prayer and ministry as the church gathers to call on God. 4 times a year we run our all-night prayer meeting Nightwatch.

Gatekeepers
Gatekeepers staff the House of Prayer. These are volunteers from Bethshan Church who guard and fuel the presence of God by praying from different locations around the clock, around the region. In hour shifts through out the day or night they stand and move with God whether intercession, ministry, warfare, worship. Our commitment is that we keep growing until we have every hour covered by live led worship and prayer.
Prayer requests
Prayer requests are posted continually on the live web page for individuals, national and international church needs, and current events both in the United Kingdom and worldwide. The Gatekeepers and other intercessors pray for these prayer requests many times a day. You can text from a mobile (details on the prayer request page) or input from the web link below.

Why not give ten minutes a day to join with others to pray, either at home or in the House of Prayer?
Salvation List
We scroll names of men, women and children who need to find the Lord Jesus Christ as Saviour, in the House of Prayer. These names are prayed for and presented to God every day asking for Him to draw them to a wonderful encounter with His love. You may want prayer for a spouse, prodigal family member or friend who needs to find Jesus. If so please post their name below.

Prayer Booths
There are currently 15 booths in the House of Prayer building in Sunderland provided for personal prayer. These were inspired by the famous "Prayer Mountain" in Seoul Korea under the ministry of David Yongi Cho, Senior Pastor and founder of the Yoido Full Gospel Church. Small wooden boxes, measuring not more that 1.5m x 1m x 1m, these booths are used to crawl inside, closing the door behind, and petition God in secret. All that is visible is a pair of shoes left outside the door. What a way to fulfill Jesus words in Matthew:

"But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you." Matthew 6:6 TNIV
Facilities
There are hot and cold drinks, snacks, books and resources on sale. There is easy access for disabled people (please note that prayer booths are up a flight of stairs). If you would like assistance finding nearby accommodation please contact the church office.
