Welcome on behalf of Bethshan church!

We believe God has a specific plan for us not just for our local communities and cities but for the whole of the North East and for the nation of the UK. As a consequence Bethshan is a regional church that meets together and in three different congregations in Newcastle, Sunderland and Durham as well as all over the four counties of the North East!

God has put us together for a wonderful purpose. As we all enjoy and live out our conviction to follow Christ Jesus we will see His kingdom advance around us.

We continually revisit our core values as a church believing God to instil in every believer a deep and personal understanding of the love of Father God for their own lives. As we deepen our intimacy with God and see our hearts restored we see our lives used by the Holy Spirit to extend God’s marvellous kingdom. We want to see our church community flowing in the river of God ’s love demonstrated by outrageous kindness both in very practical ways as well as signs, wonders and miracles.

Here are some of the more practical ways we work church life:

Life Boats

We believe in planting smaller local groups or congregations a part of the wider family of Bethshan to impact lives more effectively. Nothing is more important to us than seeing people find the love of God and being 'saved from drowning on the seas of life.'

Life Groups

We encourage people to be part of a life group as well as being committed to one of our Sunday meetings. In small groups meeting in homes we will find the care and friends that we all need as well as practical help to life out our Christian discipleship.

Mentorship

You may feel you want to go deeper in God and be challenged personally and if so there is a mentor relationship program we encourage people to get involved in. Your life group leader can help you here find a mentor as you feel able.

Life Courses

Three times a year we run short life courses which are a great way of learning some Christian life skills as well as a good opportunity to get to know a wider group of the family.

Prayer

As a church family we are very privileged to host the House of Prayer. We would encourage all our members to explore and use this fantastic gift and tool in your personal prayer life as well as joining our corporate prayer times.

Serving

We believe each member of the Bethshan family has a unique and special role to play in church life. There are so many ways to serve and sow back into the body and we gratefully value everyone’s input. We all have different skills, abilities, time etc but we are convinced that together we can build something wonderful for God.

Conferences

We run conferences regularly throughout the year which bring in some marvellous gift speakers to our country. Each conference we use for the Church family to input values and to give extended time to encounter God.

Stewarding Money

We have a high value as a church in stewarding God’s money with integrity and faithfulness. We encourage the whole church body to live debt free with an incredible spirit of generosity. We want to be a people who know how to tithe and give offerings to God as well as share what we have with others. We want to reflect God’s amazing kindness. As we prove faithful in the little we have we believe God will entrust us with the true riches of his kingdom.
